Temperature signal isolator can convert signals from sensors such as thermocouples and thermal resistors into standard industrial signals with strong anti-interference capabilities, such as 4-20mA, 0-5V, 0-10V, RS485, relay, 1:1, etc And it can also serve as signal isolation and protection:
1. Eliminate ground loop interference
When multiple devices in the system have inconsistent grounding potentials, a "grounding loop" will be formed, generating interference currents that can cause temperature readings to jump, drift, or be inaccurate.
Typical scenario:
Large distributed systems, such as chemical plants and power plants, have temperature sensors (such as Pt100) distributed in distant tanks and pipelines, which are far away from the central control room and have a large ground potential difference.
2. Suppress strong electromagnetic interference
In environments with strong electromagnetic fields, temperature measurement signals (especially mV level signals from thermocouples) are highly susceptible to interference.
Typical scenario:
Temperature measurement points near motors, frequency converters, and high-power equipment, such as injection molding machines, pump stations, and rolling mills.
Inside the power control cabinet: installed in the same cabinet as the circuit breaker, contactor, and driver.
3. Signal matching and system protection for complex systems
In situations where different devices need to be connected or system security needs to be improved, isolators play the roles of "adapters" and "security officers".
Typical scenario:
The signal format of the sensor and the receiving device does not match: for example, converting the signal of the on-site K-type thermocouple into the 4-20mA signal required by the control room PLC.
